A Photo a Week Challenge: Informal Portrait
I’m a student of life; I see beauty in nature, people and the world around me, small details and complete view. Without the ability to actualize an idea or concept, art would not exist. My work is a constant search for the best way to interpret the ideas that I have about myself and the world I live in. I do not limit myself to one medium, style, or concept. Inspiration and ideas change. My knowledge changes and grows. Each piece I create is simultaneously an extension from the past, where I’ve come from and what I’ve learned, as well as a preview of the future, where I’m going. I do not classify myself as just a photographer, as some might think from looking at my work. I am a sculptor, a painter, a photographer, an artist. If a viewer stops for just a moment to view and reflect on a photograph, a photo collage or a painting I have created, then I have succeeded in my work.

Great entries. Although I like them all a lot, my favorite is the fourth one, the woman with the glasses. I love the expression in her eyes that you were able to capture. Thanks for joining the challenge!
These are all wonderful photos, Ritva! Taking portraits is not something I am at all comfortable with, so I truly admire those whose talents extend to this realm! I think my favorite is the first, as the touch of the hand is so simple yet speaks volumes.
They’re great, Ritva. I like the lady in the hat!
Bother ! I just said the same before I saw your comment ! [grin]
Fab! Great minds 🙂
She photographs well and is a lovely lady.
I have to say, they are all lovely portraits… Well done 🙂
Thanks, I try to place / leave, catch some of the persons personality in the photo. So thanks so much for commenting
You have nothing to prove, you clever photog. ! – you can really do it all. GOODONYOU !!!
I especially love the young woman in the white snuggly hat: she has a face full of humour and character. If you run into her again, tell her an Aussie likes her face.
But they’re all super !
And if I didn’t say anything about the wonderful elderly couple, it’s because I am filled with jealous rage. I should have loved nothing better than to reach that age with Chic by my side …
the old couple are my aunt(86) and uncle( 87) married since 1955
They’re wonderful.
yes they are…true companionship. Thru thick and thin
so you recognise an other Aussie? the lady with the hat:-)
You’re pulling my leg …
not,she’s a laywer from Camberra
And she lives in Finland ?
nope, in Camberra, met her in Vancouver last summer
Some nice shots there Ritva
