The composition of an image can significantly alter the mood it conveys. The door to a Mecca building from Italy I chose demonstrates it , choosing between a landscape and portrait orientation can evoke different emotions. With a landscape orientation, the focus may broaden, capturing more of the surrounding environment, while a portrait orientation can emphasize the details and grandeur of the building itself. This shift in perspective can subtly influence the emotional impact of the image.
It’s intriguing how such a simple adjustment can evoke varied emotional responses, highlighting the powerful role of composition in visual storytelling.

Ritva, indeed the composition changes the scenery. You illustrated it well.
Thnaks, Glad you agree with me
Your thoughts are well illustrated here Ritva. I think the vertical shows the building better, and we still get the essence of the street. But then, I like buildings.
Thanks, I am learning new ways to say things, vertical, elongated… 🙂
😊
True! I like the elongated version better too.
Thanks Jo for adding a new word to my vocabulary – never used that word 🙂
🤣🩷
I like the vertical one better but the horizontal one gives a different emphasis, making us look at that section of the street rather than being distracted, albeit beautifully, by what’s above.
Thanks Janet, a totally different feel in these compositions
It looks so Italian…
That’s good isn’t it 🙂
Italiassa kaikki on kylläistä silmäruokaa! Ja kuvauksellista! #1 on numero uno, yltäkylläisen runsas.
Kieltämättä se on sitä poikittaisena
