We were cautioned about the significant issue of homelessness during our visit to San Francisco several years ago; I’m uncertain about the current situation, but I doubt it has improved significantly. Still, I hope it has. It was quite disheartening to see as we drove through the city; these random shots reflect that experience. RDP Friday: Random




Great capture of real life, Ritva, and sometimes it’s not so pleasant. I have a lot of pictures of the homeless, and I think they tell a story that needs to be addressed.

Coming from a journalism background, I’ve posted some. Got some positive and negative responses. But it is a challenge we face every day.
That is a sad story of the reality of life today.
It is so sad, we don’t have it that bad, but with the our government’s recent decisions it is a growing trend here too.
Sadly, all our big cities here have homeless populations. But I’ve never seen anyone here with a mattress. Simply a bagful of their wordly possessions, which probably includes a blanket or quilt.

This is a world problem that continues to grow.

We were surprised also Ritva at the amount of homeless in the US and Canada. We always kept money in our pockets.

Unfortunately the unhoused issue in the US has only gotten worse, especially on the West Coast where the weather tends to be milder. Dramatic photos, however.
