this week’s Lens Artists Challenge with a theme is FENCES. This week Dawn Miller of The Day After challenges us to show fencing as leading lines or as an element to showcase a subject. please check her post for inspiration.
Definition of a fence; A fence is a structure that encloses an area, typically outdoors, and is usually constructed from posts that are connected by boards, wire, rails or netting.A fence differs from a wall in not having a solid foundation along its whole length.
One of my favorite views with a fence

Whenever you remove any fence, always pause long enough to ask why it was put there in the first place.

Beautiful examples for the challenge, Ritva. Great post!!!
I have to agree. that first photos is stunning. Love all your travels here and even to go inside for fences was creative. I also love the coastal views especially the one with the white washed homes/buildings. Always a pleasure, Ritva.
I like the rustic fences in Cyprus and then there are some where you can see the blue sea – that’s beautiful too!
I LOVE that first image, Ritva!
A wonderful collection of fences from around the world. My favorite image is the one below the quote (the first in the post). Wonderful!!!!
I’ll join the crowd to agree that first image is marvelous Ritva – and the fencing is so unique it really enhances the glorious landscape. Beautiful.
What a variety of fencing you’ve shown us. Your opening fence is so unusual. And I like that you also included staircases and fencing around homes. My favorite is the sunset shot at the pier. Well done!
Wonderful examples – my eye was especially drawn to the one with the mist on the ground
Stunning images, all. If I had to choose a favorite I would agree with you on the first image.
Thanks Dawn, my. Summer house view is lovely, glad you think so too
