A cozy kitchen scene featuring a curved window with lace curtains, a white countertop with a bowl of lemons and a potted plant, and colorful fruits displayed in a glass bowl. The space is complemented by vintage tiles and kitchen appliances. Hemingway museum-FloridaA cozy kitchen scene: a black and white cat sitting on the countertop beside bowls of fresh lemons and a variety of fruit. A home with a cat is a house.
Lovely! Apart from a very naughty cat on a work surface!
Naughty… no 😂
Ok ….
Indeed a pleasant window. This is an unsual arrangement for a kitchen. Cats love windows and this seems like a very inviting arrangement.
I think you are referring to the sink and tap not being directly under the window?? I think possibly this could be because of the use of a unique Finnish design feature called “astiankuivauskaappi” (searchable: Finnish drying cabinet)
Slatted or perforated metal shelves are installed inside a cabinet that sits directly above the sink. After washing, dishes are placed on the shelves and drip-dry neatly into the sink below. With the cabinet doors closed, the dishes are hidden from view as they dry. It’s a true game-changer for small kitchens, homes without a dishwasher, or anybody who has a lot of hand-washable items
It was an inviting kitchen – the light – windows.
Kate, this was surprisingly a kitchen in Florida – In Hemingway’s house museum. Maybe his his third wife, Martha Gellhorn, covered the war in Finland and saw the astianpesukaappi here
I remember enjoying seeing lots of cats in Hemingway’s house in Key West – I assume this is that house? A very charming kitchen too 🙂
You are correct, that is the house 🏠. I took few photos of the cats and house
That is adorable! 😊
Cats have that effect 🐈⬛
