These piles of logs are keeping my husband busy. The only problem is that we’re still trying to figure out where to store all of them, along with two similar piles stacked behind the house.

A wood burning stove or furnace is wonderful
I so agree, the warmth from them is so soft
I agree so much and have memories of our fireplace and the wood stove – getting it re-lit in the cold of winter. Are you in Finland?
Yes, that’s where I live.
I have family in Finland.
Do you have a wood storage shed or do you just cover it with a tarpaulin before winter?
We have a shed and a separate covered area with metal roof, , both full. Need to figure out something else. Some will be covered with tarpaulin for winter, but only as a temporary solution
Splitting wood. I did that a lot when I was younger. (at our summer cabin). Nice photos.
Thanks Thomas, quick snaps with a phone
It sounds to me that you’ll need to add a storage shed for the wood logs. Better now when the construction is still going on. 🙂
it, would, shed is a stretch as the construction takes so much money, but something needs to be figured out.
That’s a hard-working lad you’ve got there! A true gem! Nice pictures too. pp
yes, a true gem. A keeper
That’s a lot of wood to keep you warm during the cold winter days.
Splitting and stacking logs is a lot of work! When we lived in Ohio, we had a wood-burning stove, so we had a lot of wood split and piled as well. Not as much as you, but a lot more than anybody else in our area.
Wow! It makes my back hurt just thinking about stacking all that wood!
yep, I AGREE. he did say yesterday after doing it for hours, that he felt a bit stiff 😊
You are set for the winter, once the wood dries (next year?)
next year, yes
You HAVE got a lot of wood! Hard work though it is, I rather love stacking ours in the shed. Because we use hard woods, we don’t need as much as you clearly do. Good luck!
we had to cut down 7 old birch trees so we have now plenty of logs for home and the cottage as soon at it dries up first. Oh, he is a working machine two of those pills have are under cover
