In the first image, I enjoyed the view to a warmly lit stone interior with an arched window, rustic leather seating, and potted dried grasses that soften the space with their earthy tones. The light filters gently through the window, casting a warm glow on the rough stone walls and making the whole corner feel intimate and inviting, like a quiet hideaway tucked below street level.
In the other image, I wanted to capture the rustic dining nook dressed in soft blue table linens, with simple candleholders set along the table. Beyond the vintage windows, a sunlit forest opens up, with trees catching the light and creating a peaceful backdrop. Both images are from basement cafés, and together they capture the cozy, sheltered feeling of being below ground while still staying connected to the world outside through those beautiful old windows.

For Ludwig’s Monday Window, hosted this week by PR

So charming, Ritva! Thanks for sharing with Monday Window.
Thanks, they give a feel of an era.
I love the light in these images, it’s reminiscent of old oil paintings!
Oh, that is a new perspective that I have not had. But yeah true
You have some cosy and delightful cafes at your disposal.
I have stumbled across few of them
👍It’s an important job!
All very beautiful and cozy, but my favorite is the last one with the linens. Nice work, Ritva!
