The hill behind our house looks as if it’s October instead of December but it is what it is. Just accept it, be content with it as there is nothing you can do about it. Complaining won’t make a difference.
Darkness is slowly turning into light, slowly is the thing. But come February it will be better . You can see how the day grows longer in March 21st the sunset is 18:36 and it was 15:13 on December 21st . Something to look forward to 😁

I find our current hours of darkness – about 4.00 p.m. to 7.30 a.m. hard to bear. Yours would be intolerable to me.
These are hard to bare, especially when most of the time the sun has not been shining this winter. But cosy lighting in the house and trying to stay positive, no other way to survive. A trip to sun in the winter is a life saver

It is a beautiful black and white photo but it seems strange there is no snow in Finland yet. My brother told me that the north Swedish coast where he lives, and I grew up, has no snow. It is dark though.
The climate change has had a big impact here in southern Finland, north has it too. Most likely we will get some at some point, but you never know.
Yes I can understand that. It manifest itself more in many northern parts of the world. I hope you get some snow.

So much better than our -1,3 C weather, but that is better that the rainy days we have been having.

A beautifully mysterious photo! But the long hours of darkness are difficult even here in the UK, where they aren’t nearly as long as yours!
This is the worst thing about Finland, the dark and cold winters. Then considering all things that are bad, that is not on top of the list of worst things. Grin and bare it…
