Positano, Italy, captivates with its colorful coastal buildings and stunning Mediterranean architecture.

In the picture is the Chiesa di Santa Maria Assunta church, nestled in the charming Positano on the Amalfi Coast, a breathtaking architectural gem that weaves memories of sunny day spent wandering its streets. I can still picture that striking dome, embellished with shimmering majolica tiles, catching the sunlight as if it were a beacon from the past. This lovely church, with roots tracing back to the 12th century, isn’t just a place of worship; it holds stories and dreams, drawing visitors from all corners of the globe. The views of the Mediterranean Sea and the quaint cliffside village always felt like a postcard come to life. I can see art lovers admiring the iconic statue of the Black Madonna, while soaking in the exquisite frescoes and intricate details within its walls, each one a testament to a rich history.

An incredibly beautiful place, wow!!
Yes, that is easy to agree with John
❤️ Have a great weekend.
Beautiful town and photographs.
Anne that is easy to agree with beautiful town
😍
Last photo is evocative of the beginning of a wedding.
Rebecca, that is true
Oh gosh, it doesn’t seem to hae changed much!! I last went about 60 years ago. Loved it, of course, but all of us got bed bugs in the hostel there!
Old buildings and towns seem to remain the same, we rented a house do no bed bugs for us.
🤞
Very nice,
Yes, that is easy to agree with Vijay, nice place
What a beautiful town! Your photos bring everything to life. I’m glad you showed photos from inside the church, too.
Thanks, the wedding made it impossible to get many photos
Thanks for sharing your beautiful photos. This is such a delightful looking area. I’m amazed by the building density, but it all looks wonderful.
Dan, Amalfi coast is a place I would love to revisit
We were there about 30 years ago, and it doesn’t look much different. Location, location, location… xx
location…
Stunning indeed, Ritva, as are the photos.
What an amazing place and your photos are really great. You said Positano is on the Amalfi coast. I’ve heard of the Amalfi coast but I’ve never been there. I’ve been to Rome though.
Rome is too hot to travel in Summer, so we have skipped it. Maybe in fall or early spring before the majority of tourists come. You enjoyed Rome?
Yes, I’ve been there there times, always in summer. But you are right it might be a little bit hot. However, it is still much cooler than Dallas, Texas, where I live now. It is a very walkable city. There is a lot to see in Rome and in the Vatican, but there are a lot of tourists.
