I stumbled upon these meadow sweets yesterday while searching for some August flowers by the edge of a meadow. At first, they didn’t seem like much, but the closer I looked, the sweeter they appeared. You know how it is with wildflowers—often, they have a quiet charm that surprises you, right?

Meadow Sweet Achillea ptarmica), which is part of the aster family (Asteraceae). It features lovely white flowers that have rounded blossoms around the edges and a cheerful yellow center. The leaves are pretty narrow with a serrated edge. This plant loves to grow in damp meadows, ditches, road verges, and by the water’s edge. You can expect it to bloom from mid-summer all the way through to August.
