September has already started and finally the work on our summer house has begun, not so peaceful at the moment. We are adding a new kitchen and bathroom to our house. It will add more comfort to our

Best of luck with this! Share pix when complete!!
I certainly will Nora
As someone who did this 7 years ago, enjoy and also best of luck!!! Exciting times
Yes, I am looking forward to some of it
Looks wonderfully exciting! You DO have a lovely place for the available summer weeks . . . Am grinning trying to make head and tail of the Finnish . . . Estonians are ‘vowel-crazy’ – the Finns even more so . . . the two languages are meant to be brotherly . . . I must admit to ofttime problems . . . 🙂 !
Thanks, we spend time here from May to September, October maybe depending on weather.
Congratulations, Ritva. I know you said it took a lot to get you to this point in your home’s additions. You are very blessed. Your wood piles look amazing!
Thanks, lots of work ahead to get them into logs
I hope all goes well. 🙂
yes, we agree on that sentiment
Aren’t you glad you don’t have to be living in the house as the renovation goes? Good luck with the project.
We are here now, but during winter I don’t know. My husband is retiring and is doing some of the interior work himself. We will see how it goes. One of the lad things is cutting the door to the old part of the house
Hi Ritva
So much wood – it really makes us jealous. Do you heat your sauna with wood? We heat ours with electricity; we need the wood for our open fire in the living room.
Hope everything works without problems
The Fab Four of Cley
🙂 🙂 🙂 🙂
We use wood in the sauna and we also use wood in the house we have two fireplaces that gather heat, Nice soft warmth. At home we have electricity, but we really don’t use it. And for the wood that is only half of it. We had to cut down seven 80 year old birches… you can calculate that
We have a gas powered central heating but prefer heating with wood. As there are few woods around here, wood is quite expensive therefore we use our open fires not regularly.
That’s exciting. I’ve done a lot of this kind of work, and it’s challenging and fun at the same time. I wish you all the best as you move forward. I look forward to seeing the finished project (and perhaps some progress pictures 🙂
Thanks, may you will. Within two months we should have the roof and walls ready 😁
That’s exciting.
Aaagh. ‘renovations’ …
😁
Good luck with the removations! I thought summer houses were meant to be a little spartan and back-to-basics?
This one has been for 30 years… 😂, now grandma wants improvements
👍😊
I hope it all goes okay with no surprises.
Aren’t there always something?
Absolutely! But it’s great when it’s done!
Sounds like a lot of work, hope it all goes to plan and you have a lovely place for next year
So do we, thanks Sue
😊
Very nice.
Thanks Vijay
Good luck!
Thanks Tanja
I hope all the work goes smoothly
So are we
