I prefer the first one; the coloured one is a bit dull. I think I would crop a bit more of the sky and the right edge.
That would work very well, I think I cropped is this way to leave some air to the top, but I can see your point.
I like the pictures the way they are. My favourite is the black and white version, but the shades of blue also play well, give it a mysterious air.
the roof has that faded old green against the blue sky..it looks good, but I also prefer the B&W, thanks for commenting

I do not know, it on the top of our local church, it looked photographable
