Mid-week Monochrome #125

I have a soft spot for black and white photography, it is expressive and minimalist in and very mood enhancing.

This is my week choice – light from above

Mid-week Monochrome #124

I have a soft spot for black and white photography, I also have a sweet spot for tmy grandkids. I can sit for hours and I watch them play and fight…no thats not true, I cannot watch them fight 🙂 I end up telling them to stop.

They are lively and to get them to sit down and giving me a chance to get a photograph of them is not that easy. This time I did not give them an opportunity to refuse. I sat them by thhe window so I could use the natural light and get nice contrast and shadows, Then I edited them in this moody way, I know childrens photos are not usually edited this way, but I liked them. What do you think?

Brothers

We went seeing local sights with our grandsons – all three of them. To my total surprise there were no fights or need to raise my voice once, well not in a angy way anyways. They were on the move all the time running around in such speed. Luckily the oldest boy to the youngest under his wings, he was so caring and guiding all day. The only place they were still was at dinner table 🙂 this post has photos of the boys the scenery are another post all together.

I was trying to capture the mood and the care and their inquisity towards new thing into these shots.

Countdown to 2021-5

Today is, well Saturday, it is gray and and grass is green. The small amount of snow that fell yesterday melted as it rained rather heavily last night.

As I said the grass is green, so is the moss.

Today we are going to visit our son to celebrate our grandsons birthday, even though his actual birthday is tomorrow, he is born on the 6th of December, our Independence Day. This picture is from his first Christmas in 2011. I love this – those eyes

2011

I will be posting new and old photos somehow related to winter, Christmas and eventually anticipation of new year. My aim is to take one new photo a day, but not going to stress over it, if I don’t come up with anything.

Today was a lazy day, I started this and did not finish. I ended up trying to come up with a Xmas Card Idea, yes, I still send actual cards. I also edited one photo of my grandson for today. I love the mood and the light in this photo even if I say so myself. I also did some digital art, this was one of them, you can see it below.

How to survive November 2020-12

Oak trees in Vols

Midway through November, no signs of winter in the southern part of Finland. Just now the temperature outside is 7,4 Celsius. The sun is out, the sky is partly cloudy with sunshine. Not bad, not bad at all. The light does wonders as does a good night of sleep to the spirits.

We can all do with a bright and happy smile to brighten our day. An old photo of my oldest grandson. He was such funny kid with deep thoughts. He was about three years old when he had this profound thought – for a three year old. “It is so hard to know, all that you need to know” ” On vaikea tietää, aina mitä kaikkea pitää tietää!”
