I survived November 2022

Lepis kindly made a patch to celebrate us once again surviving the deadliest month of all, November.

Here we are December, I have taken few days to recover from daily posting. As nice at it is listening to music it was hard trying to find every day a photo to match.

I am once again in silence, I think I need to but the music on. I also noticed a slight blue in the sky… it has been gray day out lately. Maybe this will cheer me up

Trying to figure what to post as nothing is really catching my attention. I can go through my archives, there are tons of photos I have not posted, I could re-edit them.

“I know I have gotta find somekind of peace of mind” The brokenhearted, I put the music on 🙂

Time to have a cup of coffee ☕and have some pastry with it and take a photo.

I also need to catch up on commenting and replying to your comments, thanks to all already for doing so !

Street Photography in Helsinki

The November streets look, well what they look like. This is what it looked liked on a November afternoon and and early evening (between 3pm -6pm) I haven’t taken the camera out since then. But I thought I would share some fresh photos today.

Some season lights were already adding light to the bleakness of this time of year. The boy looking at the display window while his parents were in line to get into the store was a nice pop of colors as was the Cartier window display with the reflecting lights from the street.

We had the first snow on Friday last week, so obviously these were taken prior to that. The snow will melt but for few days it will give us a little bit more light.

It is over, done, goodbye November 2021

Thanks for all my November surviving companions and people cheering me on my journey through the November darkness. I do have to admit it was not so bad this year as we have had several sunny days even thought the sun is out for only for short while.

The next thing to look forward is Christmas, time to find some decorations and slowly build the atmosphere to the our home.

It feels like winter as the temperatures are -9C ( 16F) frost has made art on the plants that are left. I am continuing with nature shots .

Yesterday I was not able to post or be by the computer, so I am posting my last two November posts today. It is over, November once again I survived it and we are ending it in a sunny, but cold day.

I have not lit up candles this year as often as I used, I should they do bring beautiful atmosphere and soft light.

Luckily I have some green candle holders to get the green vibe going.

First time I missed a day in this challenge. A dear friend gave us tickets to The Miracle – A Night with Queen “INNUENDO 2021” #queentribute as she was not able to attend the show.

The singer sang well and the band played well , we had an enjoyable evening. So I was too tired to start writing the post after 10, actually I wanted to sit down and have a glass of wine instead. So, a day late..

My green findings and bunch of other colors as well

Busy day. We had a nice pink sky when I came home from work at just before 4pm. It is now 4.10 and dark, November 😦 The snow has turned to ice and all the smaller walking paths and roads are so slippery.

Cucumber, tomatoes, ham, time to make a sandwich

How to survive November 2021 Day 23

Yesterday the lawn was green, so here is a photo today to prove it. Today it is white as the first snow fell here in southern Finland. Surprisingly is the snow is still on the ground, I thought it would melt away as soon it came.

Let’s start with something different, a ICM photograph of some office buildings.

I am running out of ideas at the moment – or should say I am taking the easy way out. Nature and frost are my partners today after a cold night. Frost maybe playing the bigger part, but if you look closely you can see green

Well, I am happy to present a touch of green to you. This morning as I was on my way to the car, the frost had made beautiful white lines to the brown leaves. To my joy I also spotted green. Mission for the day accomplished

How to survive November 2021 Day 12

What would I not do on my quest for green, the sacrifices one has to make 😀

I saw a friend after work yesterday, I was already going to the mall to buy some art supplies, and on a impulse I thought I would ask a friend on for a cup of coffee, no planning or making calendar appointments, just are you free for a cup of coffee.

I am getting old, I miss times when you could pop to a friends house unannounced, you could walk or drive by and see if they were home. Pop in for a quick chat. Nowadays it is more planned, I think it is a shame. I miss the spontaneity of impromptu visits.

Oh, back to yesterday: She said it was too late for her to drink coffee. So we we ended chatting by a glass of wine for few hours. And what a nice surprise, I saw green 🙂

How to survive November 2021 Day 11

Yesterday was dark, rainy all day. Not my favorite weather. While at work I found those green lollipops, to help with my quest for green. I am doing my best not to use my archives for green. I do this to keep me going, being active, presenting myself everyday with a challenge to find green.

Today I chose to take photos of a sculpture, I am repeating myself again, I did years ago. I think I did these on my second year of studying sculpture. It is green and it helped me out of my search for today. Happy Thursday everyone.

I did find something green in the end, I found a bowl of green lollipops that was an answer to my silent wish.

What is a better place to capture green than the botanical gardens, they have the light, right temperature there for flowers to bloom. Some green I captured from my visit.

How to survive November 2021 Day 8

I have liked this little green flower, but never knowing what it was, until only few days ago, I learned that it is a carnation 🙂 . It was bit of a struggle to get these shots as there wasn’t that much light and I was too lazy to take out the camera, so I took these with my phone.

The lounge area had nice green chairs. And the plants…

I took a train to Helsinki for the first time in nearly two years, for some reason I’ve gone by car for some time now. I saw a dear friend for lunch, whom I haven’t seen in a long time.

I also did my best to capture green. I could have taken a photo of the train, that would have been absolutely too easy. It turns out that Helsinki has lots of green roofs.

How to survive November 2020-30

The lyrics of the by Doors “The End” came to mind as I was thinking of what to say in this last post to; How to Survive November 2020 So it’s time to – “lyödä hanskat tiskiin” (throw in the towel) strait translation- throw in the gloves 🧤 .

This is the end
Beautiful friend
This is the end
My only friend

Kynsikkäät /
half glove
s

The end
Of our elaborate plans
The end
Of everything that stands
The end
No safety or surprise
The end
I’ll never look into your eyes
Again

half glove
s

Can you picture what will be
So limitless and free
Desperately in need of some stranger’s hand
In a desperate land

Then my next thought was , what if my next months theme would be 1. Trying to find Xmas spirit? or 2. Countdown to New Year 2021? as I am so desperately bad at finding titles for my posts. This way, I would only have to change the daily date as I’ve done the past month.

Two more post for this November, this has passed so quickly! Thank you all for making it that happen, the comments and company. I am really at loss trying to come up with an idea for today.

Candles, they work as a mood enhancer so well. Together with shells from our travels they take me to the warm and sandy beaches we have visited, so looking forward to travel again, hopefully sooner than later.

How to survive November 2020-28

I have to admit, I have not written so much about me and my life before. I have just posted photos as i have assumed that no one is really interested in what I do, or mostly don’t do. I have thought my photos will speak for themselves. Now I am wondering what to do when November is over, should I return to me old ways or keep on writing this nonsense in the future too.

Yesterday I put on make-up after a long time, no one notices if I do or I don’t at home. I had an on-line interview yesterday, so I had made myself presentable. So I am going to be boring and post a photo of me with lots of editing in color and bnw and the original also to keep it real :-), as I have no other idea for today. so it’s a #selfie #over50 #makeup post.

Table lamp

Friday!! Yes, weekend !! As if it made a difference – not! The same continues with only one difference, I can serve myself some wine. I don’t drink during the week, so tonight I can enjoy couple glasses of wine and relax! Small joys of life.

I took this photo from our hallway – entry – foyer( I could not make up my mind as to which word to use, I wrote them all down) yesterday, but as I edited it today… I should have paid more attention to cleaning, as you can see cat hair on the lamp shade if you look closely. Apparently I didn’t , must be the dim light 🙂 as it is there for everyone to see.

One of the lamps on the side console tables is giving nice muted light to the space, on the wall is a rya (A Scandinavian knottedpile woollen rug, used as bed-cover and tapestry) I did 30years ago. It nicely takes the eco away from the space.
