Timeless Café Atmosphere

This sight just screamed at me to take a shot. An old man and a cane caught my eye. The moment is best presented in sepia, as it evokes a sense of nostalgia and timelessness that truly complements the scene. This is my entry this week to Monochrome Madness – I like the mood this photo has captured, as it resonates with emotions that are often left unspoken. I felt lucky to capture this fleeting moment, where light and shadow together in perfect harmony, creating a visual symphony that tells a story all on its own. Every detail, from the textures to the contrasts, draws the viewer in, inviting them to experience the atmosphere that engulfed me while I was there.

A quiet moment outside a rustic café named ‘Kafe Grill House Dhmhtra.’ An old man wearing a dark jacket and a black beanie sits alone at a wooden table under a white textured staircase, with a glass water on the table and seemingly lost in thought. The scene is framed by a large tree with a whitewashed trunk and an assortment of leafy plants in pots, adding a natural, cozy touch. A weathered menu board stands prominently in the foreground, evoking a sense of a quaint, welcoming outdoor setting in warm, sepia-toned colors that give the photo a nostalgic, timeless mood.

Enjoying Glögi and Joulutorttu: A Finnish Winter Tradition

A cozy café scene with customers relaxing on a plush couch, enjoying glögi and joulutorttu. In winter, it is customary to sip glögi, a warm mulled wine traditionally served in crystal glasses. Accompanying the drink is a plate of freshly baked joulutorttu, which are Finnish Christmas tarts filled with plum marmalade.

As I was not bold enough to take photos of their servings, I took the liberty to show the glögi I was enjoying with a friend and the tarts I made for my family during the holidays. But all the same you get the picture 😀 . I hope.

Cellpic sunday – 070724

For Cellpic Sunday I am thinking of nourishment – food. So, I’m keeping it simple this week.

The first photo is Eromanga cafe situated in Helsinki.

Lunch at Bisto O’Mat in Hakaniemi, Helsinki. The patio had nice views over the city.

How to survive November 2023 – 21

Today the sunrise was at 8:37 and sunset 15:40. it is light gray, I did see a bit of blue sky while driving to meet a friend for coffee.

So, once again I am posting a mug of coffee. I made a spontaneous request to a friend, hoping she was available to have a cup of coffee with me and most importantly to her what’s going on in her life.

So, a mug of Coffee Latte

Street photography – cafe

I am going to post images new and old of this genre in this new topic name. Shortly described below as what I want to convey in this photos.

Helsinki at night – looking into a cafe seeing people enjoying the company of friends.

Street photography captures candid moments of daily life in public spaces. From bustling city streets to quiet suburban neighborhoods, we try to document the raw and unscripted moments that unfold around us. With an emphasis on capturing the essence of a scene or the emotions of the people within it, street photography offers a glimpse into the beauty and diversity of the world we inhabit. Whether it’s a fleeting expression, a captivating composition, or an unexpected juxtaposition, street photography celebrates the beauty and intrigue found in everyday moments.

Visiting Cafe’s

I have not been taking many photos lately, last weekend I made an exception as I went to Helsinki.

I was even too lazy to take my camera, just my mobile. Here are some street photographs. These are focused on cafe’s that all seemed to be full, we had to wait over 40 minutes to get our coffee 🙂 That time we spent people watching

My favorite image is the header.
