Carmel by Sea

I truly enjoyed this town, I could have stayed there longer. Nice shops, art galleries, restaurants. Nice, clean town for tourists and locals to enjoy. We had breakfast at a place a local recommended, I have to say it was a good recommendation.

Misty road

The morning mist was lovely, we slept so late that we never caught it at our destination, it would have given me few great shots, instead I caught them in the car. As quickly as the mist came it also passed. So here are few misty road shots near Carmel by Sea. I had fun with editing 🙂 the last picture is just as the camera caught it.

Looks good in monochrome too.

Pigeon Point Lighthouse

Perched on the central California coast, 50 miles south of San Francisco, the 115-foot Pigeon Point Lighthouse is one of the tallest lighthouses in the country and has been guiding mariners since 1872. The five-wick lard oil lamp and first order Fresnel lens, comprised of 1,008 prisms, was first lit at sunset, Nov. 15, 1872.

Pigeon Point’s original name, Whale Point, was inspired by the gray whales that migrate past the point. California’s boom from Gold Rush to statehood brought many ships to these perilous waters.

Those who have followed me for some time know I love lighthouses, so you are not surprised about the amount of photos from this place.

How Tall is the Lighthouse?

It is
100′ above ground to the focal plane of the lens.
115′ above ground to the top of the tower.
150′ (about) above sea level to the focal plane of the lens.

It’s utterly beautifulawe-inspiring, and humbling in every way. Hope you enjoy seeing the beautiful landscape from the California Coast through my eyes and lenses.

Big Sur – Cabrillo Hwy

The following posts will have bunch of photos from Big Sur, California. We drove the Cabrillo Hwy and took in all the beautiful views on this route. This time my husband had found the brake in the car, he has a tendency to drive directly to the destination. As this was a scenic route we stopped many, many and once more many times.

It’s utterly beautifulawe-inspiring, and humbling in every way. Hope you enjoy seeing the beautiful landscape from the California Coast through my eyes and lenses.

Boynton Beach, FL, February 11

I’ve been home for a week, trying to recover from the time difference. Catching up with work and all the normal stuff at home. I am trying to go through my photos, all  2035 + of them.  This photo has all the elements I enjoy, sea, sand, clouds and sun. Florida shots (341 of 2035)

I sat on one of these rocks for a long time watching the waves hit the rocks. Meditating to me. Then I started taking photos of it…these are from Boynton Beach, FL.
