How to survive November 2021 Day 17

Now we are at the heart of the matter, the soul of November is in this picture. It is already ten o’clock, but it is still dim and the air is full of drizzle.

All is good as as the lights turned from red to green.

Our favorite month, November! This year we’ll get rid of gray by painting the month in green. Lepis from Parallel lines has hosted this challenge for years, I have been part of it for several years too, feel free to join us 🙂

Open your world to a green November and enjoy your creativity. How you do it is free as long as it’s green!

How to survive November 2021 Day 16

Tuesday, bleak, even grey skies, dim light. Typical November day.

Good thing, I need to cook some pasta today, so I have to add some scallion onion, or spring onion to add some flavor. I found my green for today.

Healthy greens.

tomato is a fruit

Garlic is divine

“Too lazy to peel fresh? You don’t deserve to eat garlic.”

“Garlic is divine. Few food items can taste so many distinct ways, handled correctly. Misuse of garlic is a crime. Old garlic, burnt garlic, garlic cut too long ago, garlic that has been tragically smashed through one of those abominations, the garlic press, are all disgusting. Please, treat your garlic with respect.”

Anthony Bourdain

“I could smell garlic, butter, and wine – the world’s most delicious flavor combination. It made me feel warm, like the first few sips of wine always do.”

Sarah Jio, The Violets of March

an Onion

In onion is strength; and a garden without it lacks flavour. The onion, in its satin wrappings, is among the most beautiful of vegetables; and it is the only one that represents the essence of things. It can almost be said to have a soul.

Charles Dudley Warner

Onion is such a great topic. I think I have to go ang by more vegetables and try to take food photos.

Color therapy

Vitamins and color therapy in one post. It is a grey rainy day  and I was looking for color to cheer me up. Here are some old and new photos of fruits and vegetables to brighten and hopefully boost your energy level today as well as mine.

Onion study

The season of darkness is approaching is once again, so to pass time I took still life shots of an onion. I tried different lightings and contrast. Can you tell me which on is most to your liking?
