Monochrome – Flowers

Flowers in monochrome are a fascinating subject for photography, art, and design. They can create a dramatic contrast, a subtle elegance, or a mood of mystery. Monochromatic flowers can also inspire creative expressions.

Flowers in monochrome are not just black and white they have a spectrum of shades that reflect the light- they are not silent or dull. They capture the essence of shape and texture.

52 Frames: Week 15: Extreme Closeup!

this week I have been taking close-up shots. Time to get up close and personal with an Extreme Closeup. If you are thinking this is the MACRO challenge, it is NOT. If you go to the dictionary, you’ll find a closeup is  1. a photograph, movie, or video taken at close range and showing the subject on a large scale. “a closeup of her face” or 2. an intimate and detailed description or study.

I did the winter worn hydrangea again, as the date on the picture has to be same as the weeks challenge. I took shots of the dry flower I had in in bouquet I had couple weeks back. I also have shots of my cat Tinka, but I have to look them thought and edit.

What can you tell your viewer by pushing in close?
What do you want to bring attention to?
Try to find an interesting detail or feature – heck, the most mundane of objects can have something striking if you look closely enough. That’s what this challenge is all about – take a moment to look closer and see those details that are often overlooked.

so simply put, move in and fill your frame with your subject.  The idea is to get right into a subject, and have that subject fill the entire frame. You can zoom in with any lens you have, and your feet also make an excellent zoom feature, just walk close to your subject!

PS. This week like last has been hoping and praying that the snow would melt, but it is happening so SLOW!!!! The southern facing slops are free of snow, but our backyard, come on this has 0-40 cm snow. So not much to spot of the spring wonders that delights me every year…

weekend bouquet

I found this beautiful bouquet when looking for flowers to bring to a friend I was to visit. I ended up buying two bouquets, one for me and the other to take to her. Here are some detail shot of it, it is has so many beautiful details that I just have to share the joy I get from it.

circle of roses

“The rose is a rose from the time it is a seed to the time it dies. Within it, at all times, it contains its whole potential. It seems to be constantly in the process of change: Yet at each state, at each moment, it is perfectly all right as it is.”

How to survive November 2021 Day 25

Frozen flowers.

That’s it for today!

Our favorite month, November! This year we’ll get rid of gray by painting the month in green. Lepis from Parallel lines has hosted this challenge for years, I have been part of it for several years too, feel free to join us 🙂

Open your world to a green November and enjoy your creativity. How you do it is free as long as it’s green!

Something I noticed #21

When looking carefully, something I noticed was this bumble bee. That’s all for today.

Striped shield bug and sloe bug

Something I noticed #16

Butterflies..so many of them this year, something I noticed was that lots of people got beautiful shots of them, these are some of mine. Not the best, but I have to record of being able to catch few on the “film”.

Something I noticed #15

This fly, bug..I’ve no idea what it is as a species, but something I noticed was the bright green color, it was such a great contrast to the garland it was on. I must admit, I was happy I had my camera on hand.

Something I noticed #13

Water lilies, so pretty, I noticed then this year too, nothing to be amazed about that fact. They are lovely. That is the reason I have so many of them in this post.

This the beginning…country road take me home, to the place I belong…

Bouquet of flowers

A new week ahead and we are supposed to get summer temperatures, so looking forward to that.

The weekend went by quickly. Saturday we had -Talkoot- it is a word that english, german or swedish has a equivalent to. We we enjoying sausages, beer, cider and for kids juice by the grill taking after hard work of cleaning the common areas for summer. Raking, cleaning the playground area, washing the flagpole. Sometimes cutting down trees.

Well anyways, I asked our neighbours, a brit, Peter, Harald from germany and a swede if they had a word for this event that we all are participating in at the moment. Talkoo. No. Voluntary work? Dictionary had this to offer: bee, voluntary work, work party . The activities of the association are entirely based on volunteer work. I did find a work for german – Gemeinwerk.

Sunday, Mother’s Day we spent tidying up our own backyard enjoying the rather nice sunny day by being outside. I got a flower bouquet and mudcake with ice cream that we enjoyed with our son and grandkids as they popped by for a quick visit. Nothing fancy, but a nice day.

I obviously took photos of the flowers. I am sharing them with you now.

Sad; simplicity and elegance

..

So simplicity and elegance, was my aim as I once again took the task of taking photos of them.

The soft tilting of their heads and elegant lines inspires to try create a mood. Here are my attempt to capture sad, peaceful, or just resting mood. How do you see them, or are they just other pictures of tulips and my trying to capture some mood was in vain 🙂

But I took photos also of the ones that bowed their heads, looking lovely and a little sad.

simplicity and elegance

I love the simplicity and elegance of tulips. I usually not able to keep them looking good for many days. This time I am trying a new trick, I’ve been adding ice cubes into the water and other trick is to have them in snow…

So simplicity and elegance, was my aim as I once again took the task of taking photos of them.

Beauty

I love tulips better than any other spring flower; they are the embodiment of alert cheerfulness and tidy grace. Their faint, delicate scent is refinement itself; and is there anything in the world more charming than the sprightly way they hold up their little faces to the sun, wrote Elizabeth von Arnim and I could not say it any better.

But I took photos also of the ones that bowed their heads, looking lovely and a little sad. I will post them in my next post

Flowers

I am on an editing frenzy, trying to apply all the new skills I have required during the isolation period. I took these shots after a rainy moment. These are all rather dark, I am trying to capture the evening mood to them. How did I do? Too much?

Summer flowers

This time of the year one is for sure not without things to photograph, I’ve taken these from our summer house, where the nature is near and present at all times. I know I post similar photos every year, but I am also delighted by them yearly.

Forget me not

It would mean two things, I hope you will not forget me or a pretty flowers. Obviously, I am not asking you not to forget me.Obviously, I would be very sad if you do 🙂 It is the time of the year when these small delicate flowers bloom in my yard, and every year I take photos of them. You know, Same, same but different. So one again a offer you a collage full of images, that me predictable in that sense 🙂

Fresh from the camera 5/2020 ~2

I really enjoy this time of year, I marvel it at every spring. The nature coming out and bringing the fresh greens and yellows out for our enjoyment. The spring has had a boost the past week – I am loving it.

Waterlilies

It is that time of the year that you can spot some waterlilies. We spent few hours at Mustio Castle grounds. It is a place I yearly love to visit, one of the reason is these flowers.
