Frosty Festive decorations hanging amidst brown leaves.
November begins, and we’ll keep this year rolling forward. The theme is ’round’, and you can interpret it any way you like. It can be a photograph, a painting, a drawing, a new or old picture, anything. Hopefully, it has ‘that certain something’.

It’s super cold out there; right now, it’s -7C / 19F. These hydrangeas outside my window look like they’ve braved a freezing night, their delicate petals all frosty and glimmering. The sun’s shining and lighting up the flowers, which I managed to snap a pic of—the frost really does its thing, turning something basic into something special. I can’t help but admire how nature shows off its beauty even in the dead of winter, reminding me that there’s always something to appreciate, no matter how freezing it gets. I don’t need to look for anything else today; this round it up for me.

Frost-Covered Hydrangeas are like nature’s own little masterpieces, turning into stunning sculptures when winter rolls around. Their petals get decked out in sparkling ice crystals that catch the sunlight just right. Each flower, once bursting with color, now shows off a quiet kind of beauty, capturing that moment when nature shifts from cozy warmth to the peaceful chill of winter. These lovely blooms not only highlight the cool designs frost creates but also urge us to take a closer peek at their fading colors and shapes, reminding us of the never-ending cycle of life and how nature stays elegant, even when it’s resting.

Still showing the beauty of frosty mornings, where nature unveils its delicate artistry. This time, the details of frost on ferns create a mesmerizing sight, transforming the ordinary into the extraordinary with intricate patterns that glisten under the soft light. I even did a small poem to enhance the post. The crystalline frost, like nature’s jewelry, adorns each leaf, reminding us of the beauty that often goes unnoticed in the chilly embrace of dawn.

In its own way, frost may be one of the most beautiful things to happen in your garden all year . . . Don’t miss it. Like all true beauty, it is fleeting. It will grace your garden for but a short while this morning. . . . For this moment, embrace frost as the beautiful gift that it is.–Philip Harnden
In the end, this may be the most important thing about frost: Frost slows us down. In spring, it tempers our eagerness. In fall, it brings closure and rest. In our gotta-go world–where every nanosecond seems to count–slowness can be a great gift. So rather than see Jack Frost as an adversary, you could choose to greet him as a friend.–Philip Harnden,
Well I took several shots for this week’s Lens-Artists challenge, but as the limited images were six, I could only post that. I think the limited amount of images is a good thing actually, I really should do it more often.
A single wither’d leaf is left Upon the forest tree, By angry winds and storms bereft Of other company: And though its friends have long since gone, The wither’d leaf still clingeth on!
– Richard Coe The One Hope
I chose a slightly different angles and came a little closer – and what I liked about this is that – can you guess what I liked ?
We have had several cold days this week, but the weather should be warming up a bit. This cold certainly brings us nice and sunshiny days and the clear starry nights. The amount of clothing you have to wear to keep warm. Layered clothing is the thing or just stay inside, which is the option i use the most.
We have been seeing news about Texas and other areas that are not used to winter conditions and the problems they are having…so sad.
Today: Sunrise at 9:26- Sunset 15:16- Length of day 5:50 hours – time of dusk 0:58 minutes .Two minute less of daylight than yesterday. Today is winter solstice, the shortest day of the year. It is nothing to celebrate, but it marks the end this years voyage to darkness.
Now towards the next goal counting days until Christmas eve. Today I am meeting one of my friends for lunch. She kindly invited me to meet at out local restaurant for lunch and I was not going to say no, we both have been basically staying home all the time and neither on is having any symptoms. It is so sad where we are with this pandemic. I am in a nice situation regarding this illness, that no one I know has had it, sadly this is not the case with many people, but I am lucky that way. This bubble I am in is small, I have not met many people since March when this really hit us.
Today is also the day we are going to decorate the tree. I will have to take a snap of it, even though it will look the same as it has so many years previously as I have not brought any new decorations for years. Traditionally safe look. There is something to say about traditions, this one is OK 🙂
I am really trying to come up with something to photograph, I had no inspiration. Here is slightly frost covered plants from 2013.
Lights of the festive season.
I will be posting new and old photos somehow related to winter, Christmas and eventually anticipation of new year. My aim is to take one new photo a day, but not going to stress over it, if I don’t come up with anything.
