Repeat from yesterday, all this is still valid, today we have the bluest skies, so lovely! The minus side is that it is so COLD! -15C /5 F but with the wind factor it feels like -20C /-2F .
Wednesday, I went for a walk and a drive to few lovely seaside places. Here are few pictures from my next stop, the Marina in Soukka. I stopped to see if there were any ice hole swimmers about this morning, nope, not today. What I ended up trying to capture was the quickly changing sky, the play of the clouds and sun behind it, playing hide and seek. Clear blue higher up, cloudy near the ground.

Sunrise today was at 8:09. Sunset today is at 17:00. Length of day 8 h 51 min. Spring is coming 🙂
Yesterday I went for a walk, despite the cold. My fingers did not thank me for taking photos 🙂
I visited the Suinonsalmi inlet, when I was a kid I came here often. I was not the only one out there, I saw people walking, cross country skiing even though it was rather cold. This was my first stop.
We enjoyed a beautiful autumn Sunday visiting this lovely park, the history these trees could tell. There were people sitting by the trees or benches having a picnic, enjoying the low soft autumn light and warmth. Kids running around playing – so idylic.
I had my camera with me, but I forgot the card home so I had to take photos with my mobile. I have to say, the quality just is not the same as it would be with a camera, but you can still see that is is a lovely place to visit and only 20 minutes from home.
History and diverse nature meet in Träskända Manor Park. Manor Park is a nationally valuable cultural and historical environment and one of the oldest nature reserves in Espoo. Cultural-historical values are combined with the old noble forest of the manor park and several rare tree and shrub species as well as fauna. The manor environment also includes an exceptionally extensive and original landscape park.
We can learn a lot from trees: they’re always grounded but never stop reaching heavenward.
The construction of the manor park began as early as the 18th century, but the park got its modern look during Aurora Karamzin in the mid-19th century, when Träskända was one of the most magnificent manors in Finland.
Manor Park is a popular outdoor area and an important neighborhood for residents of the area.
Träskända Manor Park was designated as a nature reserve in 1961. Kartanpuisto is one of the most significant historical parks in Finland.
My entry to Monochrome Madness is this photo from Villa Rullud in Espoo, they have there a cafe that is open once a month on a Sunday.
The church was originally designed in the late 15th century by an unknown “Espoo master” and built between 1485 and 1490 under his supervision. The only remaining parts of the medieval church are the eastern and western parts of the nave. The weapons room was removed between 1804 and 1806 and certain other parts of the church, including the original sacristy, were taken apart between 1821 and 1823 when the building was converted into a more spacious cruciform church.
The vaults and walls of the older parts of the cathedral are decorated with murals, largely painted in the 1510s, that depict both biblical scenes and events in the daily life of the people. The paintings were covered in the 18th century as they were thought to be “crude and superstitious” but uncovered again and conserved during renovations in 1931. The current campanile of the cathedral was completed in 1767 and its top part was redone between 1868 and 1869.( Wikipedia)
