Palm trees

Kerala style house boat
Kicking off my sandals I lie back on the cushions, take a sip of a local wine, Not a good choice and watch the palm trees drifting by. It’s the start of my second week in Goa and we’re spending it on a Kerala style rice boat on the Chapora River in northern Goa.
We leave just before sunset and sitting on the top deck, watch the world go by. This has to be the perfect way to relax.. Spending the night on the houseboat was the one thing we were all most looking forward to. Here are some shots of the boat, I can highly recommend this. It was like in a Hercule Poirot movie.
As the sun sets behind the palms the scene is so picturesque, that I continue taking photos so I will capture the wonder of it.
Fishing boat
I love the sea, river, lakes. I also love boats- you will see few post of them too as I unsravel my photos from my trip to India. Here is one fishing boat getting ready to sail away, as in previous post the sunset gives these photos a nice soft look

Boat on dry land
This fishing boat on dry land looked photographable to me as the setting sun gave it a nice glow.

Tree in Chapora river

Chapora River is a river in northern Goa, India. It runs westward into the Arabian sea at Chapora and demarcates the border between the North Goa talukas of Pernem and Bardez. I took a cruise there and this one is from there taken at sunset. Several posts following this will be from there.
Woman
I love taking photos of people. I try to capture a moment in the photo, A true feeling, not a plastic smile. I say this woman sitting and taking in the life around her – and took the shot. Black and white portraits are something I really enjoy. I have here the original photo in color and this final version. Do you agree with me that the BW has more magic in it?
I have here also the original photo, color crop, and first version in BW…what speaks to you the most, please let me know.

New Year in Calancute, Goa
I usually do not write that much, but here are some photo’s taken at the beach in Calancute, Goa.
The beach was so full of Indians from the countryside, most had not seen the sea before, the joy they showed was so childlike. Tourist are a minority in this party even if there were plenty of us there also. The techno music came from every shack on the beach, different noice from all of them, you could hardly talk. There were beautiful bonfire’s on the beach and people were sending memory kite’s, we also tried, they looked beautiful in the dark sky. At midnight the fire works started and lasted for some time. Quite wonderful.
