After many cloudy and snowy day, we have a sunny afternoon. What a difference it makes on the scenery. It is a bit nippy -13C at the moment.

Our summer house is closed for winter, but we took some furniture there, just before the snow we are just getting. Our red sauna looks pretty surrounded by the fresh snow but, I am biased as it is a dear place for me.

Today it is snowing – a lot. We also had some snow yesterday. Winter has arrived to the Southern Finland. I have some new photos from our backyard and from the window from my office at home. This a small reality check between the memory lane of travels. Many years we have escaped this time of the year to the warmer lands to find sun and more pleasant temperatures.

Behind the trees you can glimpse the lake in the December dusk
It was a beautiful morning, I had to go to have some labs taken so I was out of the house early as 8:15, but was in too much of a hurry to take a photo of the lovely pink sky then. So i took one at the Health Center at (:30 and ten minutes later when I got home. It is 10AM and we have sunshine and blue skies. After two days of grayness this is bliss.
Sunrise at 9:10 – Sunset 15:18 – Length of day 6:08 hours – time of dusk 0:56 minutes

I will be posting new and old photos somehow related to winter, Christmas and eventually anticipation of new year. My aim is to take one new photo a day, but not going to stress over it, if I don’t come up with anything.

It’s snowing! It’s Friday! It’s Weekend!

I got out of bed 9:20, as do not have to hurry to go nowhere. It was dull gray no sigs of brightening at all, and it didn’t, it started to snow, side ways.
Friday again, I am not able to keep track of the days anymore as they tend to be all the same. Same, Same but different. I had to check from the newspaper really Friday. It was 🙂 Nothing to write about – so this is todays post!

Linlo island walk bridge view towards the marina. Same spot same time of the day as in the previous post, but the skies look so different.

I had the wrong shoes on so I did not go for a walk on this little Linlo island, I just took photos from the walk bridge and few meters into the island. I think I like the best in these photos is the contrast of colors, the reeds and the darkening sky. I thought I’d post something colorful between my November survival, which has actually helped me keep active as I have to find something to post everyday.

Kivenlahti seaside was grey, as I was taking a walk there searching for gray, which is a topic of a month in a Photography FB group I am in. I saw this boat being left in to the reeds. I thought that might make a great B&W shot. So here it is.

As many of you asked if I was happy with the outcome to the hair salon, well this is the outcome

Spring is brown; summer, green; autumn, yellow; winter, white; November, gray.

I am going to post these post about two edits so I can try to find out what people like, I might go over the top with some, but as I am trying to learn a new artsy take on some photographs by giving your opinion you are greatly helping me learn a new skill. Please comment I truly appreciate it. I am going to post the favorite one on my FB account.
I went slightly overboard with this one. SORRY!! there are two sets of choices. I could not make up my mind which two to pick 🙂

This is an old country road in Kirkkonummi, I love this old oak tree next to the road. The entryway to the property next door is also inviting. I always admire this view which ever season maybe.
This dock is at Pilvijärvi, a small lake in Kirkkonummi. It looked so nice in the low autumn light on this sunny morning at the end of October.

As the rainbow was behind my back and I was facing the lake with the sun shining on my face in as a slight drizzle came down I took these photos of the rain. I was able to capture the “rainbow balls” I do not know the name for this effect, but I am very happy with these captures, what do you think ?

I had to get out of the house, it felt like the walls are falling on top of me. Covid has so messed up our lives, so many restrictions to what, where and when you can do it. So I have mainly stayed at home as the weather has not been the greatest the past weeks. Now as it is already dark a 5 PM well … need I say more.
Well anyways I got out of the house and we even got few moments of sunshine today and it was warm at this time of the year 14C. I took the car and went for a drive. My first stop was at lake Syväjärvi as I noticed a nice rainbow. What I saw on the front of the rainbow you can see in the next post, stay tuned 🙂

I have so many shots from this lake at nearly all hours. I am rather happy how I captured the October colors and hues.

O suns and skies and clouds of June, And flowers of June together, Ye cannot rival for one hour October’s bright blue weather.

the last stripe of light in the horizon a Lake Humaljärvi in Kirkkonummi. I love the blue tone – heure bleue as they say in French.

It is that time of the year again that we closed the summer house for season 2020.
We packed all the linens away and emptied the refrigerator and cupboards from food. Racked the leaves, well actually we run the lawnmower over them and this way the all the nutrients will remain in the ground.

So these are this season’s farewell photos, Enjoyed a lovely sunset and warmth of the fireplace plus the beautiful night sky you are able to see in the countryside as there are no street lights.
