Cloudy skies, occasionally bit of rain, that is what we have had in the weather front in the past few days with couple hours off sunshine. So here are shots from the road leading to our summer place taken yesterday afternoon. Linking up with Skywatch Friday ~ 22/5/2026, I haven’t participated in skywatch for years, at one time I was a frequent visitor.

I have taken so many photos with my phone lately and now I am excited to share the latest ones. I took these of our yard yesterday night, and I was really pleased with how they turned out. These solar-powered lights were beautifully illuminating the scene, casting a warm glow over the garden. The stars were particularly bright that evening; they even managed to make an appearance in these shots, twinkling against the dark sky.

I was so pleased to capture such moment, as the night air was crispy as the night was cooling down after an really warm spring day. Today we are back to normal spring temperatures. John’s Cellpic Sunday inspired me to take share the beauty that unfolds right in our backyard during the night.
We have had two beautiful sunsets this weekend, each more captivating than the last. The colors have been really intense, creating a display that left us in awe. As the sun dipped below the horizon, the sky transformed into a vibrant canvas, splashed with hues of orange, pink, and purple. Nature truly does provide the best art with big and bold strokes, reminding us of its incredible power and beauty..
This first set is me facing the camera to the west sky. The photos in can be enlarges by clicking the photos, I even recommend you to do so 😀

This barn is across from the clubhouse that burned down, the Rockabilly festival is still on, but if they are able to pull it together is a big if, it was supposed to be held there.
it is the time that time of year again when the magical color show begins, it’s not at it’s best glory as yet. But You can smell , sense the coming autumn.

we have had beautiful summer days, and that is something I have tries to capture these photos. The water was so cold as the rapid flows into the lake at Vuolenkoski, Finland. How the kids were able to be in it is beyond me… 🙂 This first set of photos are from there, the other one below are from Ruuhijärvi were the water was a whole lot warmer 🙂 as you can see from the expressions and body language.
Last weekend ended our long summer heat chapter of temperatures around +30 C, it is not that common to have that warm weather here. I am getting old, as I who loves the warm weather, thought that it wont’t hurt if it comes down a bit. It didn’t need to turn to +15 C and rain, but it did, that Finnish summer for you.
Salajärvi
Well on the last warm “tropical evening” I drove to several lakeside spots to capture the lovely sunset. The mosquitoes did bother me a bit, but it was a lovely evening.
I drove to the lake to take photos of a swan family, but they were not there, so I’ve added a photo my son took the night before. We are enjoying beautiful weather in Finland at the moment, but we must take all the joy from now, as you never know when it ends.
Our spring is totally messed up, Saturday it was sunny +19, today evening it was snowing and +2C. These are from Saturday just prior sunset. I like how the light colors the trees.
After my walk, first taking in the beautiful fall colors on the ” big”road, to enter the small roads between spruce forest, I arrived to this lovely lake view. It was a glorious October morning, all quiet and still. This were my first shots as I came to my destination – a peaceful moment by the lake.
