We went to have lunch and I decided to enjoy a cider while my husband chose a beer. We did also enjoy some good food 😂

Monochrome Madness #6 – Everyday Objects
So this is posted for Sarah of Travels with Me, who’s prompted this week’s challenge for Leanne’s Monochrome Madness. The first three I took this morning after I saw the topic. Tinka was just having a sip of water, while I was having my morning coffee. I thought I’d cook something with pasta today so I’ll have to choose witch pasta to use. I came to my study and thought that should I apply some makeup on, or not 😀 Probably not.
I mean, those are okay shots or do I have anything in my archives I could post. Off course I have, so I found few and convert them to monochrome . As always, all the images can be enlarged by clicking on them even if in a gallery.
Flower of the day
I should say flowers of the day. Here are some still life photos of the flower bouquet I got myself for Easter. I took these and wanted to play with the idea of creating an art photography type of images.
That was the aim, did I succeed I’m not sure. I had fun editing the images, that I know. The rose captures my mood today, that’s for sure.
I read that , for photography to be Fine Art, it must be more than just a literal representation of something. The image must communicate that it was deliberately curated by an artist to convey an idea, not just snapped by a camera to immortalise a scene.

Bound in Time
The essence of age and wear.“Bound in Time” Old, rusted chains and weathered ropes are tightly bound to metal rings attached to a wooden surface of the ship. The chains, thick with visible rust, tell a story of exposure to the elements over time. The frayed and worn ropes add character, while the aged wooden surface bears lines, cracks, and discoloration that caught my attention.
I thought this rustic image, evokes a sense of history and nostalgia.

The arrival of tulips in stores signifies the start of a vibrant and colorful season. With advertisements promoting their beauty and availability, it’s hard to resist the allure of these elegant flowers. Personally, I can never resist the enchanting appeal of tulips
Their diverse colors and graceful appearance make them a perfect subject , whether you prefer capturing their vivid hues or showcasing their elegance in a minimalist style. Over the years, I’ve collected a delightful array of tulip photos, each one trying to capture the unique charm and beauty of these flower’s. Now is the time to indulge in some color therapy and celebrate the arrival of spring to the store’s.

I was trying to get shots with theme. Create a movie scene – and as I was at it very late in the challenge this was one idea. I did not end up using these, but since I took and edited them why not share them – I did take them and edit them on my mobile.
Last rays of light fell on to the bed, where the lonely lady had placed her loved childhood toys to rest on the pillows. I hoped to create a different mood by changing the colors and contrast and light. The last one is the most positive, the two first ones I wanted a to create a more sad and lonely mood to to them

Big and small tool
These bigger and smaller tools are from Verla’s Groundwood and Board Mill, Finland’s first factory museum.
Verla was named a World Heritage site due to its status as a unique and culturally and historically significant example of an industrial settlement from the turn of the 20th century.

This photo cavalcade shows a collection of jewelry and accessories that I have collected over the years. I like the natural materials and colors, such as wood, metal, leather, and stone. I also like that there added some colorful beads and tassels to make them more fun and unique. I hang them on a lamp in my room, so I can easily see them and choose what to wear. I took this photo , using a low angle and a dark background to create some contrast and focus on the jewelry.
I was bored, and this is the continued efforts to fill time in-house – yesterday I posted more “artistic” versions of the these necklaces. Here I did several variations of editing on a singular photo. The change need not be big to change the atmosphere of still life photo.
Abstract- Three versions
It is cold and did not feel like going out, so what did I do instead, I took photos of my dress jewelry that is hanging conveniently on my lamp next to my desk.
This image was the only more abstract version, as the focus is on a lamp detail. I am sharing with you the original and three processing versions of it. Is this abstract photo art or not and what do you feel is the best version ?
Las but not least the original one. The header is an added plus 🙂

Bright Sunny Sunday
During the past weekend I have been trying to do presentable graphic art, monotype. I have to admit that I did not actually manage to do that. They fall in the category of not good not bad.
Saturday was bleak and grey, No inspiration coming from the weather then, but Sunny Sunday was cold but bright. I took these photos with my cellphone, mobile phone as I would say.
I have posted these for Cellpic Sunday , and One Word Sunday – I was Bright enough to post these together 🙂

Today is 10 October, birthday of the writer Aleksis Kivi; the occasion is also celebrated as the Day of Finnish Literature
Aleksis Kivi, born as Alexis Stenvall, is considered to be the national author of Finland. He was a Finnish writer, playwright, and poet who lived from 1834 to 1872. Kivi’s most famous work is his novel called “Seven Brothers” (Seitsemän veljestä), which is widely regarded as the first significant novel written in the Finnish language. Kivi’s writing often depicted rural life in Finland, showcasing the struggles and joys of everyday people. His contributions to Finnish literature have had a lasting impact, and he is still celebrated as a pioneer of Finnish national literature.

In Finland we do not have our flag in the poles all the time, we have special day when we have it and even then it is up only on official flag days and national flag days designated in the calendar. The flag may be flown on other days as well. The Finnish flag should be flown between prescribed times. The decree stipulates that it should be hoisted at eight in the morning and lowered at sunset. However, in summer the flag can be kept flying until 21.00.

contrasting colors
I am continuing to participate in 52 frames – this week the theme contrasting colors, as its still all snowy here in Finland trying to find contrasting colors in the nature is a real challenge, so I did not take it on.
I had oranges on the table – I have a blue wall in my living room, with light coming in from the side from a big window. I have a matching blue linen dress to place on the sidetable to get my still life props in order, Easy solution from thing found in the house.
As you can see all of them are VERY similar, with slightly different lighting and contrast , as well as the blue looks a bit different in all. This is something I spend too much time at… well that what I do, and then trying to pick a hopefully the best one for the challenge, second guessing my choice all the time.

I survived November 2022
Lepis kindly made a patch to celebrate us once again surviving the deadliest month of all, November.
Here we are December, I have taken few days to recover from daily posting. As nice at it is listening to music it was hard trying to find every day a photo to match.
I am once again in silence, I think I need to but the music on. I also noticed a slight blue in the sky… it has been gray day out lately. Maybe this will cheer me up
Trying to figure what to post as nothing is really catching my attention. I can go through my archives, there are tons of photos I have not posted, I could re-edit them.
“I know I have gotta find somekind of peace of mind” The brokenhearted, I put the music on 🙂
Time to have a cup of coffee ☕and have some pastry with it and take a photo.

This is my third week in participating in this challenge. I have to say, there has been beautiful posts about the chosen topics tthese past weeks, I have found new blogs to follow and it has given me inspiration and intoduced me to new places and ways to look at photos. But to the topic at hand…
Jude from Cornwall in Colours hosts this weeks LAPC #226 – Textures.
She wrote; Texture is one method of bringing life to your photos. While the structure of an object is its form, the material from which it is made constitutes its texture. You are aiming at translating texture visually, bringing life and energy to a photo through shape, tone and colour.
I have done macro photography for some time and capturing texture is one of the aspects of it. Hope you enjoy my findings in the world of textures, I am also going to post my findings from nature and the nature’s produces, fruits and vegetables plus some spices,
Texture adds variety and visual stimulus to the surface of a photograph. There is a better chance of getting an exciting photograph from a laboured study with texture than from a smooth clarity without it.

Apple that has seen better days, I had in my office for the longest time and forgot about it. It looked like it would make a nice photo, even if in this state of decay, or because of it. I took it to the patio and took some shots
