Even nicer weather

What a difference a day makes added with sunshine, the snow covered trees look so nice.

I still haven’t ventured beyond my backyard to take photos, but I am happy to have this as my view.

52 Frames, Week 7: Unexplored!

I had to struggle with this, as the weather did not in anyway give any reason to want to go and explore. It was a really wet week, there was slush everywhere, angle deep in places. It has been raining or snowing most of the time, not my kind of weather.

The great unknown – it’s often a good idea to visit new places and experience new things. That’s why this week, we’re encouraging you to take shots of places hitherto Unexplored.

You can find new places and experiences wherever you are – in a bustling city or an idyllic rural setting and everything in between. Take a moment to think about what you want your image to portray – excitement, beauty, nostalgia or even something poignant. Since you’re likely going to be in a new place, do be patient with yourself and the surroundings.

Well, one place near by saved me, it was not totally unexplored as I have been there once before. It is only a little white lie..

52 Frames, Week 5: Depth Of Field -3

Today we went out and took a quick walk at the mall as I needed some Yupo paper and we stopped to have a some milkshake at Kittys and I thought this might be a opportunity for a Depth Of Field shot – a super important concept in photography that often separates those photos that look “amateur” from those that look “professional” or as I like to call it, “profesh”.

Retro décor and pastel colors, this might work. Four slightly different versions.

52 Frames, Week 5: Depth Of Field -2

It has snowed a lot lately, today there was a moment of sunshine and went out with an intention to capture  Depth Of Field – a super important concept in photography that often separates those photos that look “amateur” from those that look “professional” or as I like to call it, “profesh”.

In my previous post I had taken some shots outside, here are few I took inside still life. Once again I was sloppy, I forgot to dust the table prior the shots, well, so it goes.

Here are some of them, give me once again your valuable input as I try to improve my photo skills.

As I was taking minimalist photos, I took these of some costume jewelry, I don’t know if these really are minimalist, but I like them enough to post them.

Memory lane- Oregon #4

At first I will take you to the Oregon coast line, unfortunately I do not recall what beach or location other than coastline, at the time I did not write them down, for me it is enough that they are beautiful locations and loved the views. These are from 2013, might not look the same anymore

This is the second last post from this location, but it was such a great spot so obviously I have tons of photos. You can see the Heceta Head Lighthousee in these

I would love to travel see new beautiful places, but I cannot due to the pandemic, so I am on a memory lane trip to some of places I have been. Hope you will join me on the scenic tour of lovely places.

52 Frames, Week 4: Minimalist!

Minimalist!

Still working with what I could find at home. Minimalist as a topic was great as I am still on sick leave due to Covid. I have been home since January 3rd. I can tell you the walls are beginning to fall on me. Still so tired, I have about 4 hours of OK feeling then I am back on the sofa watching tv.

I have to pick one of these to share, do you have any opinions to help me with which one I should choose to be my minimalist pick. All opinions are welcome.

52 Frames, Week 3: Complementary Colors!

Complementary Colors! Extra Challenge: Very Peri

Still working with what I could find at home. Luckily I have a large collection of different colored scarves so I could find a suitable background color for the challenge. The yellow fake flower acted as a contrast.

Challenge received and done. I had another picture too, but after consideration, I ended up with this clearer and more minimalist version with the extra challenge

52 Frames Week 1 – Selfie: Sick and tired

I got it, my hubby got it and my son too. I did this for a challenge but it is appropriate for saying, I will not be all that active in next few days

What winter looks like

At night before I closed the blinds it looked like this, so pretty

Night time
Snow covered oak tree

Memory lane- Oregon

I am sitting at my desk watching the snow fall and dreaming of sunshine and warm weather.

So, I was going through my archives, again, for photos that I haven’t really edited. So I edited them. I have lot’s of photos that I have not taken that need a closer look. Some need to have the horizon straightened, maybe add little contrast and light. So I have done that. Touch here and there.

At first I will take you to the Oregon coast line, unfortunately I do not recall what beach or location other than coastline, at the time I did not write them down, for me it is enough that they are beautiful locations and loved the views. These are as far as 2013. we were visiting my sister in Canada, she lived near the US boarder so we decided to take a trip to see Seattle and Oregon while we were so close.

Snow covered trees

Even if winter is not my favorite time of the year, I have to admit that it can look very pretty.

The beauty of winter

I like blue color

I was trying to come up with a title, I could not come up with any. I thought I’d make a post, but I have nothing to say. Nothing is happening. Days are short. I work. I watch tv. Sleep. Then I do the same again.

I have been practicing oil ink paintings, most of them are rubbish. I have tried to do warm tones, reds, orange and yellow. Cold tones, they turned out much better. It looks so easy, but to get anything presentable is hard. It is fun, but the room needs to be easily ventilated, but with the cold weather we have been having you just cannot keep the windows open.(-16C / 9F for nearly a week, today it’s only -1,3C /29F) so I’ve had my head full of fumes 🙂

I have not photographed anything worth publishing lately as I have not been doing anything.

I have admired our updated kitchen, I am happy with how it turned out. I more than once I questioned my choices in colors and materials. We only changed the tiles, countertop, sink and lights, the cabinets remained as they where. The kitchen table was sanded and re-waxed, so it is now the same shade as the kitchen countertops

Now I know the topic, it is something that is common in both of paragraph’s above, blue. They are blue.

Independence Day

That’s it, Independence Day here Finland is cold and dark, but candles are traditionally placed in the window, mine are in front of the blue waves

How to survive November 2021 Day 30

It is over, done, goodbye November 2021

Thanks for all my November surviving companions and people cheering me on my journey through the November darkness. I do have to admit it was not so bad this year as we have had several sunny days even thought the sun is out for only for short while.

The next thing to look forward is Christmas, time to find some decorations and slowly build the atmosphere to the our home.

Our favorite month, November! This year we’ll get rid of gray by painting the month in green. Lepis from Parallel lines has hosted this challenge for years, I have been part of it for several years too, feel free to join us 🙂

Open your world to a green November and enjoy your creativity. How you do it is free as long as it’s green!

How to survive November 2021 Day 29

It feels like winter as the temperatures are -9C ( 16F) frost has made art on the plants that are left. I am continuing with nature shots .

Yesterday I was not able to post or be by the computer, so I am posting my last two November posts today. It is over, November once again I survived it and we are ending it in a sunny, but cold day.

It feels like winter as the temperatures are -6C ( 20F) frost has made art on the plants that are left.

Two more days then November is over and we can start waiting for the next big event – Christmas will be here sooner than we thought.

I have not lit up candles this year as often as I used, I should they do bring beautiful atmosphere and soft light.

Luckily I have some green candle holders to get the green vibe going.

How to survive November 2021 Day 26

First time I missed a day in this challenge. A dear friend gave us tickets to The Miracle – A Night with Queen “INNUENDO 2021” #queentribute as she was not able to attend the show.

The singer sang well and the band played well , we had an enjoyable evening. So I was too tired to start writing the post after 10, actually I wanted to sit down and have a glass of wine instead. So, a day late..

My green findings and bunch of other colors as well
