I was commenting to Sue about her post Monday Washing Lines and mentioned I had few photos of wash hanging on lines in odd places. So here is my finds on this topic, what I recalled having easily available. I loved the image with the washing seen between the bell tower of the church in Ravello.

Today I finally got some stuff done. I took my spectacles to the optometrist to get them fixed, one of the lenses had a not so small scratch on it. Went to the pharmacy to get eye drops my eyes are so dry, as is my skin, winter…
I also took an artwork of mine to be printed, I sold one, I am rather happy about that. Hopefully it will come out nicely as it is largest I’ve had done so far.
Once again a picture of snow

Nothing much to write about, we have snow and winter temperatures, and you can see the increase of the light and every day you can be amazed by it.

We got 10cm more snow during the night, so a fresh coat of snow made everything lovely.

I have surprised myself be going out now two days a row, since I have had no desire to do so in a long time. I am trying to force myself to be more active. As stated in yesterday’s post, laziness, depression, or just getting tired of all this shit has taken over.
It has been a lovely sunny winter day so far. I went for a walk and this is what I saw…

To reassure you – I did take a shower 🙂

We are at the point of winter that the light time is increasing fast, what a blessing, with the snow on the ground the effect is noticeable, in the south of Finland we will gain about 30 minutes of light in a week, 5 minutes a day. North, well a hour of more. The joy…

Today it is snowing again, yesterday was clear, so I made myself go out for a short walk, but did not make it out until later in the afternoon. I did take my camera with me, so I captured few winter shots of my neighbourhoods.
Today I am making effort to do a post, and contemplating if I should take a shower or not…I probably will. Do you have days that you would rather spend the day doing nothing, I’ve had several the past days?

Something different from my travel memories and winter shots. Still life – Red Apples. Just for the fun of it.

No travel in sight, so I am going to post photos of lovely places I have visited. I will keep it simple, lots of posts, less words is the theme in these posts.
Visit to a small Kothduwa Temple a Buddhist temple located in Kothduwa island in Madu ganga in Sri lanka has left me with fond memories. On the way we say birds, and local girl showing a little monkey and there we saw the grizzled giant squirrel.

No words, just a lovely view from my home town.
I have been rather silent lately, nothing has happened really. Winter came finally with snow, it’s been 10 years since we had this much snow. Boring, boring is what life is at the moment. Maybe I will feel more positive soon, one needs to be a bit down to feel the joy again.
This feeling in the winter is not new to me as I am not a winter person, but a child of summer. If one need to point one positive thing, it the light that is slowly but surely coming our way. Sunset is at 16:23, it over a hour more that it was in December. See, I can find something positive in all this 🙂
Have a great day!

Snow covered field with one lone pine tree caught my attention and the rising mist in the afternoon gave the scenery a nice atmospheric look.

We visited Kandy, Sri Lanka and on the way we saw beautiful tea plantations, and visited one of them . We got a the tour with detailed explanations about Black tea manufacturing process.
At the end of the tour we were offered free cup of tea and cake. Purchasing of tea at the end for gifts. Learned a lot about different tea qualities, not that I remember too much about it anymore 🙂

I caught a spot of sunlight mids the spruce trees. Winter in with snow is rather beautiful, if cold.

One of my memorable experiences was in Mirissa, Sri Lanka. We went whale watching and were so lucky to be able to see at two blue whales, the one below one was the best, very rare – this one swam underneath our boat. The captain told everyone to shut up when he spotted it or he would throw the one who spoke overboard. Only if you keep quiet the blue whale might approach you – you can’t chase them. We were lucky and this magnificent animal visited us.

I will spend few more posts on the Amalfi coast. We also visited the lovely village called Positano. We could not go to the church as there was a wedding, I just popped in very quickly. Notice the two older gentlemen with strong bodyguards 🙂 arriving to the special occasion.

Wedding is about to take place at Assumption Parish of Our Lady Positano
