Abandoned~1

I saw and photographed a burnt cow shed last week as I was looking to capture the beautiful fall we are experiencing this year. This has once been a great and huge shed. Even the ruins in the condition they are impressive at least to me. I will be posting shots of this place between my Autumn Vibes photos.                                                                            I would appreciate your feed back if you also find this ugliness appealing, at least in photos?

April 4

This morning while driving to work I witnessed a beautiful sunrise in the mist. I so wished that I was taking photos some where other than a moving car through dirty car windows. but what can you do, one needs to work. So my apologies for the quality of the photos, but considering the way I took them I am rather pleased .

Two of the most well known Churches in Helsinki.  The first one is Helsinki Cathedral  is the Finnish Evangelical Lutheran cathedral of the Diocese of Helsinki, located in the neighborhood of Kruununhaka in the centre of Helsinki, Finland. The church was originally built from 1830-1852 as a tribute to the Grand Duke of Finland.

Uspenski Cathedral  is an Eastern Orthodox cathedral in Helsinki, Finland, dedicated to the Dormition of the Theotokos (the Virgin Mary). Designed by the Russian architect Aleksey Gornostayev (1808–1862). The cathedral was built after his death in 1862–1868.

The statue in the marketplace  in front of it is Keisarinnankivi, Helsinki’s oldest monument built in 1835. In the right bottom corner,  the ugly square building is by Alvar Aalto, I have always thought is placed in totally wrong place.

March 30

Today in Helsinki  we saw an unusual sight in Hernesaari,  a small seal was on the shore. There were lots of people gathered around it. Looking and wondering  and taking lots of pictures of it.  I hope this little thing is able to reunite with it’s mother (dam?) when the people are not there. I just heard that people got too close to it, even petted it, so the firefighters ended up taking it to Korkeasaari a zoo in Helsinki.

When walking in the city, this being in Helsinki there was only some dirty snow around. Cold wind, but sunny skies, here it looks like spring. Don’t be deceived, it on looks like it.
