Travel memories 2

No travel in sight, so I am going to post photos of lovely places I have visited. I will keep it simple, lots of posts, less words is the theme in these posts.

I love the sea, beaches, forests, mountains, countryside and lovely cities and the people in them. Colors; blue, green, red, white, yellows and what ever you can find around you. I love beauty and these photos remind me of beauty I have seen.

Walking up from the pier to the Centre of Capri, this was one of the sights.

The dock

This dock is at Pilvijärvi, a small lake in Kirkkonummi. It looked so nice in the low autumn light on this sunny morning at the end of October.

Oriental Bittersweet

These are some of the colors we still have in our backyard at home, orange, yellow, brown and green. In this post it is about Oriental Bittersweet that grows on our fence. What is left on it at the moment is orange color in the form of berries. Earlier in the autumn it was vivid yellow with yellow berries that now at the end of October have turned orange.

At the lake

Autumn carries more gold in its pocket than all the other seasons.

Sunflower

And the yellow sunflower by the brook, in autumn beauty stood.

Hello Yellow

Yellow is the colour which is closest to light. We associate the rays of the sun and the stars with it. It is the radiance of the spirit.

Afternoon mist & blue moment

A flower’s appeal is in its contradictions – so delicate in form yet strong in fragrance, so small in size yet big in beauty, so short in life yet long on effect.

Rock art

Kopparnäs rock area is a multi-streaked rock type; the toughest the rock types are quartz-feldspar gneiss alongside the stripe is gneiss, granite and some shale rock types.

Kopparnäs

It was Sunday again and it was sunny again, we went out of the house again. Lots of repeats! Last time we went to this place, it was on the Storvik side in the spring. Now in autumn we are on the more rocky side, in my opinion, at Kopparnäs. Lovely place, not crowded this time, families and couples strolling the seaside. In this post, I have photos from the forest and our walking campions, our two grandsons.

All’s well, what’s a rainy day?

Green Leaves

This is the original with added contrast and clarity

below you see the ones I used stronger editing to create different mood and colors. I find this fun and a learning experience. More “Art Photography” like.

I am cultivating my editing skills, trying to create different atmospheres with one photo.

The first one is the original with slight edits in contrast, clarity and vibrancy and exposure. This was already a macro so did not need to crop it.

Garden nuisance

Snails are a nuisance in the garden, they leave slim and holed leaves behind as the move around the garden.

Summer flowers

This time of the year one is for sure not without things to photograph, I’ve taken these from our summer house, where the nature is near and present at all times. I know I post similar photos every year, but I am also delighted by them yearly.

Summer evening

I drove to the lake to take photos of a swan family, but they were not there, so I’ve added a photo my son took the night before. We are enjoying beautiful weather in Finland at the moment, but we must take all the joy from now, as you never know when it ends.

Fresh from the cottage

I am self-isolating at my summer house and once again documenting the spring miracles that brighten our minds and spirits every year. The light is so strong up-lifter of the mood. We have lots of light now and I am so happy about it, as I am about the new green, beginnings of summer.

New Edits #13

The Twelve Apostles is a collection of limestone stacks off the shore of Port Campbell National Park, by the Great Ocean Road in Victoria, Australia

I Witnessed the rugged splendour of the famous 12 Apostles, magnificent rock stacks that rise up majestically from the Southern Ocean on Victoria’s dramatic coastline. And you can tell I was impressed by the amount of photos I took there.

Created by constant erosion of the limestone cliffs of the mainland beginning 10–20 million years ago, the stormy Southern Ocean and blasting winds gradually eroded the softer limestone, forming caves in the cliffs.

The caves eventually became arches and when they collapsed rock stacks up to 45 metres high were left isolated from the shore. View the 12 Apostles at sunrise and sunset as they change colour from dark and foreboding in shadow to brilliant sandy yellow under a full sun. ( text from visit Melbourne)

Blueberries

it looks promising, the are so many beginnings on our blueberries, seems that we could have a great year for them, if the frost does not take them.

Fresh from the camera 5/2020 ~2

I really enjoy this time of year, I marvel it at every spring. The nature coming out and bringing the fresh greens and yellows out for our enjoyment. The spring has had a boost the past week – I am loving it.

Porkkala cape

Porkkalanniemi is in Kirkkonummi the area I live in, we visit it quite often and the natural beauty of the place never lets me down. The area consists of rocky shores, pine forest, and beautiful outlooks onto the sea. The Porkkala cape stretches far out to the sea. These are from our yesterdays visit.
