Back to the archives, this is an old sunset photo I discovered when searching for shots that I’ve disregarded, now after editing , not so shabby.

Sitting under the tree

Social distancing is the word. this man with his son looked serious with their distancing – a very full boat with supplies they seemed to be heading to to an island near by – I think.

CB&W – Dock

Martins Beach in California

Pigeon Point Lighthouse

Perched on the central California coast, 50 miles south of San Francisco, the 115-foot Pigeon Point Lighthouse is one of the tallest lighthouses in the country and has been guiding mariners since 1872. The five-wick lard oil lamp and first order Fresnel lens, comprised of 1,008 prisms, was first lit at sunset, Nov. 15, 1872.

Pigeon Point’s original name, Whale Point, was inspired by the gray whales that migrate past the point. California’s boom from Gold Rush to statehood brought many ships to these perilous waters.

Those who have followed me for some time know I love lighthouses, so you are not surprised about the amount of photos from this place.

How Tall is the Lighthouse?

It is
100′ above ground to the focal plane of the lens.
115′ above ground to the top of the tower.
150′ (about) above sea level to the focal plane of the lens.

Sunset

Beauty, majestic nature. Just beautiful, sunset at sequoia. All unedited photos 😀.

On the road

It has been once again a day of rain and sunshine. Mostly rain. I drove to Lohja Hospital to have a Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) of my foot that has bothered me for a year and a half now. Hopefully after these new ones they will know what to do with it. Operation or just continue as it is… well this is not what my picture are about. As I said I drove there, it was through the country roads and this is what I tooks photos of. Our ever changing clouds

Sailing

Today is supposedly the last day of summer according to article I read in the paper. The rains are coming down on us from tomorrow. Lets see what happens…

But in the mean while here is a photo I want to share. I am starting my fall by taking on painting again and I will also start to study / do sculpture after few years of doing nothing on either of these hobbies of mine. And the photo – I thought I would use this photo as an inspiration on my first painting.
