Lovers Point

Lovers Point Park has above all become Pacific Grove’s best-loved spot for scenic photography. Because of its unique east-facing location, it is also one of the only spots on the West Coast where you can watch the sun rise over the water, but we were not lucky the morning was gray and misty. Still it was a nice spot to visit first thing in the morning.

PINK lipstick

Continuing with the pink theme; Lipstick. PINK lipstick. I edited them rather differently, can you pick the one I chose for my challenge. I most probably chose something other than most of you.

Pink

One of the groups I participate have color there, but not in collage. This month its pink. Going outside to find pink is not an option. It is a good thing I favor pink in apparel, I have lots of pink scarfs for one thing. I took several photos, does that surprise anyone, no? I took some time to edit them. Now I should pick my favorite, could you help me?

This one?

Kollaasi 217 (5/2020)

At this week shades of colours are found from sardonyx. Those who know me know that I certainly have hard choice of choosing. So, once again I made two collages, same pics, but different layout and could not choose which one to post. What can you do, you can either like them or not 🙂 that is your choice!

Carmel by Sea

I truly enjoyed this town, I could have stayed there longer. Nice shops, art galleries, restaurants. Nice, clean town for tourists and locals to enjoy. We had breakfast at a place a local recommended, I have to say it was a good recommendation.

CB&W – Signs

Signs are every where, mostly I do not take too much notice of them. These go in the theme what I’ve been posting on the blog lately. My trip to Las Vegas and California. I had to add one from the sign capital, Hong Kong. I have never seen so many signs on a street before.

Misty road

The morning mist was lovely, we slept so late that we never caught it at our destination, it would have given me few great shots, instead I caught them in the car. As quickly as the mist came it also passed. So here are few misty road shots near Carmel by Sea. I had fun with editing 🙂 the last picture is just as the camera caught it.

Looks good in monochrome too.

At this week shades of colours are found from emerald. Have a lovely week. Two takes on nearly same photos from Australia.

Still traveling US

I have still many miles/ kilometers driving and pictures from our drive on the California coast. I have given you an opportunity to have a break from these beautiful views. Well, here we go again, I need complete my dairy of the trip.

If I am not totally wrong these are from Point Lobos State Natural Reserve

CB&W – transportation

Editing Black and White images is fun, I have a limited amount of photos of public transportation’s but I did find few for CB&W theme this week.

Trams seem to be my favorite public transportation to photograph. So there are trams from Helsinki, San Francisco, Melbourne. Buses and metro from Hong Kong. Ferry from Sydney and Hong Kong. Last but not least a train from Melbourne. I did actually find several as I started to look through my archives. Happy travels in public transportation.

Tram in San Fransisco
Tram in Helsinki
Sydney Ferries
Train at Flinders Street station in Melbourne

Colorful tunnel

The tunnel to the railway station was always dirty, full of graffiti, dark and dingy. Nowadays it is colorful, bright and no one has yet done any graffiti art or scribble there which is a nice surprise

The colors of beach

Cypress Point Club beach

I love watching the ocean, the waves, changing colors of blue and green. The warm sand underneath my toes. Sun.

Firefighters

I saw these firefighters practice in full gear, running up stairs, climbing ladders, ans carrying the victim those stairs. It looked exhausting in the +35 Celsius heat. And the situation in real situation…

I had it easier I took a photos. I edited them all slightly differently, any thoughts?

I have been following the fires in Australia as two of my cousins have been effected by them very closely. So these are relevant in that sense that you have to be prepared at all time.Keep up the skills and fitness.

Details from here and there

Pigeon Point Lighthouse

Perched on the central California coast, 50 miles south of San Francisco, the 115-foot Pigeon Point Lighthouse is one of the tallest lighthouses in the country and has been guiding mariners since 1872. The five-wick lard oil lamp and first order Fresnel lens, comprised of 1,008 prisms, was first lit at sunset, Nov. 15, 1872.

Pigeon Point’s original name, Whale Point, was inspired by the gray whales that migrate past the point. California’s boom from Gold Rush to statehood brought many ships to these perilous waters.

Those who have followed me for some time know I love lighthouses, so you are not surprised about the amount of photos from this place.

How Tall is the Lighthouse?

It is
100′ above ground to the focal plane of the lens.
115′ above ground to the top of the tower.
150′ (about) above sea level to the focal plane of the lens.
